"Jack Barksdale is special. The 12-year-old songwriter from Weatherford plays guitar, mandolin and four other instruments. He's also got a web series called Guitar Slingers, in which he jams with guitarists who are touring in the area; they discuss music, playing techniques and what it takes to be a great musician. And if all that weren't impressive enough, the preteen has already released a full-length live album that he recorded at Fort Worth's Niles City Sound. That's the same recording studio where Leon Bridges recorded his two Grammy-nominated albums."
"The future of Texas Music is in good hands with the emergence of 12 year old Jack Barksdale. He combines emotionally charged songwriting with fresh energetic guitar licks, add in the young perspective from an old soul and you have a relatable brand of music that will appeal to anyone."

“I have been in radio for over 20 years and I can not remember ever seeing a young man with so much talent at such a young age. He might just be Townes Van Zandt reincarnated.”

"Jack is such a gifted young man. The talent he has is spectacular and you can feel it in his music. He has a real heart and is so passionate even at his young age. It's going to be a blast watching him grow into his success."
